What is artificial intelligence?

The term "artificial intelligence " was discovered by John McCarthy.

   

 Artificial intelligence is wide ranging branch of computer science and is concerned with building smart machines that are capable of performing tasks that typically requires human intelligence.

AI works with traditional machine learning techniques like Natural Language Processing (NLP ) that powers the AI based applications. 

As the machines are increasingly becoming capable of performing tasks that typically requires "intelligence ". A witty remark of Tesler's theorem says that "AI is whatever that hasn't been done yet ". More oftenly the term "artificial intelligence " is used to describe the machines that can mimic the functions which are associated with humans and human minds. Now a days AI techniques have become an most essential part of every technology industry which helps in solving the many challenging problems.

AI makes possible for the machines to learn from experience and adjust to the new inputs so that machines can perform tasks like human being. Many of AI algorithms are capable of learning from data. So that they can enhance themselves by learning new heuristics or else they can write another algorithms. While some of the learners are Bayesian network, decision tree and  nearest neighbour with the given time, data and memory they learn to approximate the any function, including mathematical functions. These learners derives all the possible knowledge by considering the every hypothesis and matching them against every data. 

What is the need of AI?

The AI makes every process better, faster and more accurate to done. It also has some crucial applications such as identifying and predicting the fraudulent transactions, faster and accurate credit scoring. AI also improves the existing process across industries and applications and helping in solving the problems that are complex to deal manually. Moreover Alexa and Siri are just like real humans and we interact with them each and every day for our smaller to bigger needs. 

What are the types of AI?

There are three types of AI

1) Narrow AI:- sometimes referred to as Weak AI. These kinds of AI operates within the limited context and is simulation of human intelligence. They focuses on the perfoming single task extremely very well.

2)Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) :- sometimes also referred to as Strong AI. These kinds of AI are those in the movies like Robots from Westworld or Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation. It is a machine with general intelligence that are much in similar with human and which can be used to solve any problems.

3)Evolutionary AI:- it is the study of the design of machines that simulate simple creatures and attempt to evolve and is having higher level emergent behaviour. Example :- Ants, Bees.
