Dahab is a fabulous spot in South-Sinai in Egypt. Egypt as a whole is famous for its pharaonic monuments, Sinai is famous for its special location & miraculous nature, while Dahab specifically is famous for its charming beauty.

It is the town of magic and beauty. This is not just a personal description, it is what the signboard says on the gates outside the town: Magic and Beauty. The beauty of the place charms you and automatically gives you the feeling that there is magic within this place. When you are there you get charmed by its lifestyle and forget the world outside, as if you don't need to think of something else, it is always enough.

Lots of tourists travel to Dahab for a couple of days as a part of their trip around the world, then they stop there deciding to continue their life in this place, for many reasons:

Soul is feeded

     In Dahab, all locations are surrounded by the mountains and the sea. When you sit inside nature, your soul connects to its energy and starts feeding. You lay down over the sand, under the sun, with little shadow of palm trees, surrounded by mountains, your legs touching the water, sea waves coming and going with its relaxing voice, and the peace you feel inside. During the sunrise or sunset, you watch the pinky colours of the mountains interfering with the bluish colour of the sky and the light of the sun rising or fading behind the mountains. The miraculous beauty of nature nurtures your soul and brings you peace inside.

Four seasons in one day

     During the 24 hours you can feel the weather of all four seasons and during any season. In the morning you enjoy the warm sun even in winter, in winter you can sit under the sun wearing swimming suits, while at night when you are by the sea you shiver from the coldness of air and the strength of wind, even if in summer. In all seasons you can wear the same way, summer clothes in the sun, carrying a jacket in your hands when needed.

Simplicity

    If you are looking for a luxurious style of life, then Dahab is not the right choice. Anything luxurious is not in Dahab. Everything simple and basic is found in all Dahab. Houses are small with very simple Beduin furniture; sitting on the floor over a thin mat, wooden roofs and small cozy rooms.You can walk in the street in pyjamas and your slippers and still look stylish. You can sit on the beach anywhere along the coast. People are very simple, you can meet new people every day, walk in the street and smile at each other, sit in cafes and very easily talk to each other. 

Anti-Stressor

     Lots of people travel there to run away from stress in their lives, once they arrive at the place and look at the sea, all their stress fades away, and they start taking everything easy, as looking at the sea and sitting between nature releases the negative energy one carries inside.

People living in Dahab are likely to be unaffected and unconcerned about events going on in the bigger world outside of Dahab, as if life in Dahab is totally enough, unless you miss your family who is not living with you. 

You start to calm down, not always searching for the empty gaps to be filled, as your soul is to fill the gaps you are looking for, 

Activities

      Several physical activities can be done in Dahab that suits its nature. Water activities for example are amazing with the red sea; like diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kitesurfing and scuba diving. You can also go hiking in the mountains, ride your bike around the whole town, go for a run on the beach, attend a yoga class with many trainers and different kinds of yoga.

One of the most famous activities there is freediving, for it has a very important spot for divers called Blue Hole. Blue Hole is popular for freediving specifically because of the depth directly accessible from shore and the lack of current.  There are also other spectaculous spots for diving which were the reason for opening lots of diving centers for supporting the activity and for making training courses for Divers to be. 

People 

    Bedouins are the original people of Dahab. They have a friendly attitude towards everyone, generous, peaceful and very helpful. They are the main owners of the buildings there; including houses and shops, so their work mostly is based on renting their places and getting the monthly rent then live in peace the rest of the time. They have a very unique culture, in which  young children are in the streets all day, return from schools, go to the beach to sell handmade accessories to tourists and at night play in streets everywhere. Most women are at their homes, taking care of house responsibilities and caring for chickens and cheap, few of them go out with covered bodies and faces to sell beduin tea on the beaches. Men are around people everywhere, they are very conservative at their homes and with their families, while with tourists and people outside they are very free and open minded and know how to deal with different cultures.

Egyptians living in Dahab are also very friendly and caring for each other and easy to deal with. Many young Egyptian guys and girls leave their cities and go live in Dahab to have freedom away from the conservative Egyptian culture in the cities, so they have the Egyptian vibes with the freedom of Dahab.

Dahab as a whole has residents from many different countries with different nationalities, so you can meet a mix of cultures there. As a touristic town, tourists come regularly from all around the world, so you can find many people from your country and from countries you love to make friends with.

Cheep

     Financially, Egypt is from the places to travel to having a very small budget, as the Egyptian pound is a very small currency compared to Dollar or Euro. Besides, as life in Dahab is very basic, you just need primitive needs. Using a bicycle for transportations around the small town, wear simple clothes and not have to think of brands and meet on the beach without having to pay for sitting in a cafe, so the budget for living there is very low. There are no franchises or brands there, to keep the simple basic style, and to keep cheep prices to support visitors to come from other countries always.

Music

     Egypt generally is a place where Arab artists come to get famous around the Arab World, while Dahab is a place where Underground singers get their chance Lots of famous Arab Underground bands and singers begin their success journey from Dahab, for making parties in the mountains and on the beach is not a big deal. Beach cafés welcome the rising singers with the good talent to sing in their cafés, and from their guests start to know them and build an audience. As a guest, you can listen to music everywhere and attend music parties everyday.

Animals friendly

     For the peaceful vibes in Dahab, no one acts in a badly towards animals.You can walk in the street find a dog sleeping in the middle of the street feeling safe that no one would hurt him and cars will walk away from him, as a result, dogs and cats are a lot all around. You may walk and find street dogs coming and touching your leg asking you to play with him. You may enter a café finding a dog sitting on the sofa feeling it is his right to have his comfort like people do. Because of that, it is easy for most residents to adopt a dog and take care of him.

Safe

     Sinai is safe. Being a very important location for the whole world, the Police and the Army  over protec it. Since you enter Sinai and on your way to Dahab, you get stopped by a checkpoint every several kilometres to check IDs of people entering the area. If any kind of problem happens, police care for safety as a priority, for they will never allow visitors to fear anything as long as they are in their protection.
