HOW TO EXPEND YOUR VOCABULARY?

The sure fire method to learn new words would be to put them to use, as soon as you can. And as amateur writers, we find plenty of opportunities for the same.

For example, in the above sentence, we can replace plenty with ample, to stick one new word into our memories. Again the previous sentence can be rewritten by finding better
alternatives for the word stick.
I like the imagery of the word lodge, which could be used as 'to lodge newer words
into the grooves of our memories.'

Synonyms can be easily found over the internet or in a thesaurus. But a word of caution in here, is to discern that not every synonym is apt, in such jugglery of words.
When in doubt, tee the line and pick words you're rather comfortable with. Once in a while, however. get adventurous and flash your newly acquired lexis.

Another great way of stumbling across new words is to read more. You'd do that frequently even while reading posts on Mirakee. On an average. if you're attentive. you'd easily unearth. atleast a couple of contextually placed fresh words, in most posts.
Pick them apart,  prod them a little, get down to their roots, before sowing them into your
memories, and then watch. how magically lush your verbiage gets over time.

And if you're in a hurry to master words, along with all of these. you can catalyse the process of vocabulary building with lists of verbs and nouns. Expose yourself to this list at repeated intervals.

Review the list before piling more words to it. This system is called as spaced repetition.
