Are Indian Parents Insensitive???

Indian parents ……. Well-Well….. It’s really a daring to even think that our parents love in very insensitive manner.   

People may even terribly discard this article even after reading first line but it’s a fact that majority of Indian parents have strange characteristics which any how cannot be classified under true love expression.  Please consider below cited assumption of them while analysing this whole story:

1.  Control OR Respect:

They assume that if they are able to control their kids, they are being respected.

2. Rightful to take important decisions on behalf of kids: 

Marriage and career are must to be chosen by kids with their approval/suggestion.

3. Image Cautious: 

They are so image cautious that they can easily break anyone’s heart just to maintain their image in front of society.

4. Handicapped Parents :

They become so handicapped in front of so called “log” that they cannot answer/confront those ‘log’ for lifetime happiness of their kids.

5. Sanskaar Wall : 

Behind the certain of sanskars, they just want to keep their nose up.

6. Never Assume Kids as an Individual:

Actually we and they are conditioned in the way that we all do not understand that to impose our wishes to another individual is not at all healthy. Indian parents never assume their kids as an individual person who has his/her own wishes.

7. Investment OR Parenting :

They give birth to a child by their or their parents wish and fulfil each and every need of that kid with expectation that he/she in future fulfil their needs too. It is for me is like a long term investment. I mean if you bring up your kids well without any expectation, he/she will automatically care for you in future. 

8. Differ behave between siblings:

 There is a huge gap between the bringing up pattern of boys and girls in India. Also between siblings, they become more insensitive towards the kid who is not performing well in school or sport or is not that much so called intelligent.

9. Kids, Prestige symbol: 

Kids are assumed like a prestige issue here. They give huge pressure to kids not for their wellbeing but for setting examples among their relatives.

10. Assume Zero self esteem of kids:  

They don’t know even never think that even a slap to little kid or to a teenage kid has potential to down his/her self esteem forever.  

Every parent is not like this in India but I am talking about majority of Indian parents and this is a bitter truth of society which is really hard to be accepted. But it is also a fact that we would be only able to transform shortcomings of this society only if we acknowledge and accept the faults from whole heart. Else we will feel happy beating the drums of greatness of our culture/sanskar/sabhyata.
