Automobiles : Boon or Bane ?

We often come across questions that demands a view from our side.It could be a positive view , negative view but most of the times the question forces us to have a broader view considering both positive and negative aspects to come to a better conclusion.

For example; mobile phones: boon or bane, Technological advancements: good or bad , etc.

..

So few days back my sister wanted some help with one such question as she had to process a mini write-up on "Automobiles: good or bad".

..

My sole purpose of writing this article is to present a pattern in which you can write articles like this in a compact manner , highlighting all important details. It's always suggestive to start with a mini introduction followed by stating the advantages and then sliding to the detrimental effects and finally ending it with a conclusion.

"Automobiles: good or bad"

Just as a coin has two facets , this statement too has it pros and cons . Both the facets has its own importance and one can't ignore any of it.

There is no denying fact that automobiles are a boon to modern world and has made it easy for people to travel anytime and anywhere in limited time span.Be it passengers travelling around the world through train and flights or shipments being transferred over-seas through ships and cargos , they have revolutionized both tourism and import/export industry.Even in our day to day life we are highly dependent on it .From going to school , college or offices etc to delivery boys safely dropping people's package , everything revolves around automobiles.

Life today has become unimaginable without automobiles.

Apart from all these , automobile industry has generated tremendous employment from engineers to skilled mechanics to raw material producers and suppliers etc. Most of our youth have an inclination towards going in this field and persuing their careers as the field is ever-blooming.Emergency deaths have also gone down due to automobiles as patients can be immediately taken to hospital without much fuss.

But , with all these positive aspects there is a glooming side too.Automobiles is a major contributor of air and noise pollution that has deleterious effects on our environment.

Automobiles today have become a "status symbol" and people are not much interested in concepts of car pooling. This can be proved by showing the number of pre-bookings of car made by people when ever a new model is about to be launched.

The fuel needed for automobiles is non-renewable resource and is limited and with ever increasing demand of the same , the day is not far when we will run out of our fuel resources. The gaseous emissions like CO2, unburnt soot particles etc are green house gases and contributes to global warning that is responsible for melting of glaciers and increase in sea level. The noise pollution caused by jets and aircrafts can impair hearing capacity of a person and can make him deaf. The gaseous pollution can badly affect respiratory passage of a person resulting in asthma , bronchitis , emphysema etc.

..

By this we can draw a conclusion that automobiles no doubt have revolutionized the modern world with their advantages but we can also not ignore the detrimental effects it has on our environment..
