During this time, no village man consumes alcohol and meat. However, there is little improvement in this tradition now. Because today's women may not be able to live without clothes, now women can wear pattu, a mountain cloth made of fine cloth or wool, for five days. Which cannot be changed for five days. People still believe in this practice that has been going on for centuries.

According to the Hindu calendar these practices are celebrated at the end of the month of Sawan and in the early days of Bhadrapada month. And according to the English calendar these practices are observed from August 17 to August 21.

This tradition is played in Pini, a village in the Kullu district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. These villages are situated in the valley of Manikarna.


Why is this tradition celebrated?
This tradition is not mentioned much in the pages of history. However, according to local people, there was a demon possessed here centuries ago. The demon was raising women dressed in nice and beautiful clothes. Then Lahua Ghond gods reached this village and killed this monster. The day was Bhado Sakranti, which is also known as Kala month in the local language. And since then these Lahua Ghond deities have been worshiped.
