What is Medical oxygen? How it is made at oxygen plants? some major Reason behind the unprecedented oxygen crisis in India.

Medical oxygen is a pure form of oxygen that is used for medical treatment in case of severely ill conditions of lungs .the cylinder which contains a high purity of oxygen gas is known as Medical oxygen cylinders.
We frequently hear the term oxygen and medical oxygen. By the name both are the look of the same nature but, there are lots of difference between general oxygen or industrial oxygen and medical oxygen. In Medical oxygen, only pure oxygen is present. The presence of any other gases is negligible due to many times filtration.  While industrial oxygen is used in the industry for gas welding, gas cutting, oxygen scarfing, flame cleaning, flame hardening, and flame straightening. etc

In gas cutting, the oxygen must be of high quality to ensure a high cutting speed and a clean cut.

if we use industrial oxygen as medical oxygen, then due to impurities, it will be hazardous for patients and patients may fall ill. So in the time of covid _19 pandemic, medical oxygen is more important than any other forms of oxygen.

***How it is formed at plants?

As we all know that, both air and water contain oxygen. In the air, the amount of oxygen and nitrogen is 78% and 21% respectively. In water, it has a different amount of oxygen at different places. That's why a human can not take a breath in water. In every one million molecules of water, there are ten oxygen molecules.

In oxygen plants, the Air desperation technique is used for separating oxygen from the air. At first, Air is compressed and impurities are separated from it. After that, the filtered air is cooled to separate oxygen from other gases. After the entire process, the oxygen present in the air is turned into liquid and then stored in the cylinder to rush it to hospitals.

** Major Reason behind oxygen crises in India.

(1) Huge surge in demands.

As the new variant of covid _19 damages lung at a large scale so many patients need medical oxygen to survive. Due to this, a huge demand for oxygen is being witnessed in many states.

(2)A large scale gap between demand and supply.

(3) the main problem is that medical oxygen is not reaching hospital beds in time. This delay is a product of where production units are located, a stretched distribution network, and what critics have said is bad planning.***

**We hope India will shortly solve the issue of acute oxygen shortage.
