TAUK TE- A MUMBAIKAR’S PERSPECTIVE

The storm was coming, we all knew it. But Mumbai got a double blow in the sense that the mayhem caused by the storm kick started the monsoon season with a flooding.

Mumbai now expects every monsoon to bring one or two flood days. This has been the pattern for a few years now. However, flooding on the first day, that too when monsoons were maybe, a week away in normal calculation, caught the city napping and the damage was more than the city had braced for. And oh, we are not even on the topic of corona version 2.

Mother Nature has been pissed with the human race for a while now. First, climate change and now corona with the added flavor of Tauk te. God, if you prefer to call it that, has given Man enough rope and man has misused, abused and squandered nature’s gifts and brought the situation to a brink when the ‘Empire’ so to speak has struck back. Tauk te is collateral damage when seen in the larger perspective from a Mumbaikar’s viewpoint.
