External Pressures and Internal Motivations To Achieve A “Perfect Body”.

Introduction
The world we live in sends us all types of signals and messages regarding the perfect body. We receive constant image-related messages from various mediums from the media and the surrounding environments, all trying to explain what society signifies as beautiful. It would not be surprising that instead of embracing and accepting the various diversities on the body type, people often focus on the dangerous and unattainable perfection achieved physically. On the other hand, the reality is that these perfect images that most people aspire are enhanced digitally and manipulated before final production. They are, however, hardly real images. This paper gives slick prose trying to provide a critical discussion regarding the pressures exerted externally and internally on the perfect body's motivations. We should be concerned, the health and the criminal justice response accorded to this issue.

Body image is the way one sees them, the feeling behind your look, and the various ways that people may be thinking about you. The truth is that there are different shapes and sizes that both males and females have. This explains why it is impossible to present only one type of body and consider it as the definition of beauty (Schlicht, Godin and Camaione, 1999, p. 27).  Concerning the physical and emotional changes that come along during puberty, most young people are more self-aware. Body image is regarded as one of the major concerns among people (young people), where females have more worries than males. Consequently, the males have been experiencing significant pressures towards achieving higher levels of fitness and perfection physically.

The methodology applied to most body image research indicates that it is next to impossible to establish the precise cause and consequences basing on the negative body image as a result of the overreliance on the correlational studies. Moreover, the research shows that the potential causes of negative body image are; obese, the media report on the ideal body shapes, influence from family and peers, and the various factors that each and every individual might have, for instance, the tendency of trying to make comparisons with others. Some consequences are associated with negative body image, including depression, low self-esteem, and application of some unhealthy control measures such as crash dieting.

Gender is one of the significant factors towards establishing the most impacted by the negative body images, with females with the most significant numbers being the most unsatisfied with their body satisfaction compared to males regardless of the age bracket or their race. However, negative body images are present across all ethnicities (Bailey, 1992, p. 349). Several potential factors merge in relation to protecting body image protection or its prevention. Healthy body weight, close relationships with others, improvement of wellbeing, and trying to keep off instances that one is making comparisons with others are examples. Research has it that exercise-based interventions and psychotherapeutic interventions are fruitful to ensure that you at least have a perfect body image.

When you are externally motivated towards making some change, the drivers of change are outside of your control and outside of you. External factors keep changing, one cannot have any control over them, and trials of keeping up with them will prove useless from time to time. A person who is internally motivated, there is always the desire to call for your betterment. You are still held accountable to yourself, which is why you are the determiner of your success or failure.

Trials to lose weight in order to look better are one thing, but shots towards the creation of a perfect body are another one. Wherever you want an ideal body, consider asking yourself if that's the direction you want your energy put? Achieving this has terrific time spent and energy and money used. For instance, look at the kind of life celebrities lead in order to achieve their looks. If such is what really motivates your personality, consider having it done, but remember it does not just come quickly; there is always a cost (Raphael, 2004, p. 1350).

The cost mentioned here is the attention you finally give to your looks. Your life revolves sorely around appearances. This arouses the question, does looking perfect really matter? People who look notable lack the poise, calmness, and inner beauty that other people who look less perfect may possess since they base their concentrations on the achievement of outer beauty.  The inner beauty and the alignment that is with the inner self are basically what makes you feel comfortable and lead fruitful connections between you and other people. However, it is imperative to have both your body and mind is taken care of.

Conclusion

From the above representation, there is enough evidence that there are complications between factors such as weight, media, relationship with other individual characteristics, and body image. In a bid to facilitate a better understanding of body image in the future, there is a need to improve the various aspects of the body's idea.
